The Barbours’ Play: the Baptism of Christ

We have been given the chance to perform the Baptism of Christ on 24 and 25 June 2023 at Holy Trinity, Goodramgate, York.

Can I buy tickets in advance?

Yes! Please use the following link:

What’s happening?

A street festival: cue food, decorations, stilt walkers, music and a procession through the city on Sunday 25 June at 11 am hosted by the Goodramgate traders (and YMPST will be there!)

How do I get in?

Please enter through the gate on Goodramgate.

What if it rains?

The performance may be moved inside the church in the event of inclement weather.

Why that weekend?

23rd June is the festival of St John the Baptist – and that’s why we are performing the Baptism play at the invitation of Holy Trinity. It’s the only play in which the Baptist appears (excluding the Harrowing of Hell of course). We are delighted that Paul Toy (The Flood 2022) has stepped up to direct.
